OpenTrial - the future
A country's immune system is its legal system. It must be strengthened to permit social and economic growth and to prevent the affliction of injustice.
The world is in the midst of an information revolution and OpenTrial works to harness modern technology to make legal systems throughout the developing world more effective. By strengthening the rule of law in this way OpenTrial tackles the root cause of deprivation and suffering.
More specifically:
•OpenTrial works to develop Web 2.0 websites and manage the population of them with data, in order to substantially enhance legal system transparency to reduce the scope in such systems for corruption and violence.
•We shall be promoting engagement with Western law firms to help strengthen the rule of law in emerging markets / developing countries.
•We also aim to provide know-how and supply hardware for the digitising of legal system processes to create, for example, e-courts.
•We will be offering a recruitment service, to supply consultants and actively engage with the funders of rule of law projects around the world.
•OpenTrial aims to arrange judge, court administrator, police, prosecutor and lawyer training courses.
•We plan to help co-ordinate the pro bono services of legal professionals in the cause of justice
